|Object Name||Piano, Upright|
This is a refinished 1890's-1900 upright piano with detailed scrollwork on the panels above the keyboard. It has 2 foot pedals and the keys are in great shape, considering the age of the piano. It can be tuned, but does not hold a tune for a very long time. Mike Munson and his children, Justin and Jessica, purchased the piano in 1991 from Larry and Cathy Burton, for his wife and the children's mother, Teresa. It was something Teresa had always wanted and they gave it to her the first Christmas in their new house. During the construction of the house, Teresa would point out to family and visitors who came to the construction site, where she wanted the new piano to sit. Inside the piano, the Munsons found two cards that say "Union Piano Forte Makers of the City of New York.
